Course Objective:

  • Educators will understand how to infuse instructional strategies that promote engagement of students in their learning
  • Educators will know how to identify local historical learning opportunities (resources, places, people)
  • Educators will discover library resources pertinent to US presidential history

Course Outcomes:

  1. Creation of a lesson plan that includes 3 objectives, 3+ learning activities, 2 assessment tools to quantify the learning objectives
  2. Creation of a reflective journal that includes 3 – 2 page submissions for each class; 2-page submission on the lecture; and a 1-page submission reflecting on the Jordan House Tour.
  3. Creation of an annotated bibliography to use as a resource guide that includes:
    1. Books – 10
    2. Journal Articles – 5
    3. Web Pages – 5
    4. Media or other – 2
